I was using Instagram and suddenly I got a message there was showing me cross app messaging feature 2022 or you can say an update in Instagram.

Basically this is an update by Instagram itself for messaging feature. It allow users to contact their friends who are already using Facebook but are not on Instagram.

Means if you are on Instagram on your friend is using Facebook so you can contact him using this update and your friend don't need to install Instagram.

In this update you can clearly see but features they are going to give the users like -

1. You can change your chat colour
2. Can react with an emojis as we do on Facebook
3. We can swipe to reply messages as like telegram or WhatsApp
4. We can also create some funny or interesting selfie stickers yourself
5. Chat with your friends who use Facebook

The thing I really like about this feature/ update is that you can directly chat with your Facebook friend who is not using Instagram. Even you can contact them without downloading any extra app like messenger Facebook.

How to Enable Cross App Messaging Feature In Instagram?

Recently Instagram launch this feature for users and when you will open your Instagram account you will get a popup notification on your screen. 

You can read out more about it and can enable it through notification or if you haven't received any notification or you just cut it so just follow the steps I am going to tell you about.

Here is the step by step guide that you can follow to enable Instagram cross app messaging feature update -

1. Open Instagram application login with your account
2. Go to profile section tapping on profile at right hand corner
3. Click the menu option above on right corner
4. Now click the setting button which appear after clicking on menu.
5. Click on settings to get the update and features
6. Top off all settings you can see update messaging click on it.
7. Now you are on update page click update now.

Now your Instagram account is ready to use cross app messaging feature. But once you will update you will get your Facebook account and Instagram so you have to select one or you can skip it for later.
